Palace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Beijing Summer Palace<\/p>\n<p>The Summer Palace is located in northern Beijing and was first created many hundreds of years ago as the summer resort for the imperial family.\u00a0 \u00a0It suffered destruction during two foreign\u00a0\u00a0invasions and was rebuilt each time.\u00a0 It is now open as a grand garden representing several styles and is home to many notable buildings.\u00a0 The majority of the\u00a0garden consists of a lake, Kunming Lake.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kerry.net.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/055.jpg\"><img 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Long Corridor, a very long covered way which enabled the imperial family and other notables to travel a vast distance without being affected by the elements.\u00a0 It is highly decorated with paintings which according to what I read need renewing every 12 years.\u00a0 The ones I saw were not particularly spectacular.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kerry.net.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/163.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1048\" title=\"163\" with shops to make her feel more at comfortable.\u00a0 They were renovated in more recent times.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kerry.net.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/Tower-of-Buddist-Fragrance.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1054\" title=\"Tower Fragrance<\/p>\n<p>There were many other buildings and waterways, some of which I saw and some I didn&#8217;t.\u00a0 Not all photos were noteworthy.\u00a0 It&#8217;s worth a return visit.<\/p>\n<p><a 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This was not at the Summer Palace but near one of the subways I used to get there.\u00a0 It is one of the original waterways in Beijing and has not been
