Architecture and Street Art in Melbourne<\/p>\n

I\u2019m in Melbourne for a few days. Today I did a circuit of the CBD
\nand environs on the free shuttle bus before getting off at the Exhibition
\nBuilding\/Melbourne Museum stop, walking across Carlton Park and through the
\nstreets of Fitzroy before purchasing a little something at Beautiful Silks. http:\/\/www.beautifulsilks.com\/index.html<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Melbourne skyline has become incredibly varied.\u00a0 I considered alighting at the stop for the
\nEureka Skydeck http:\/\/www.eurekaskydeck.com.au\/<\/a>
\nwhere a view of Melbourne can be obtained from the tallest residential building
\nin the southern hemisphere, but the weather had turned overcast so I left if
\nfor another day.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Melbourne has retained much of its original 19th<\/sup>
\ncentury architecture and combined with skyscrapers, funky new buildings in the
\nDocklands precinct and with easy transport in the CBD it looks a very
\nattractive city, even on a day when sun was mixed with overcast
\nconditions.\u00a0 Sometimes the old and new
\nare cheek by jowl including that of the Rialto Building in Collins Street where
\nthe fa\u00e7ade of the original building was kept, backed and dwarfed by steel and
\nglass.\u00a0 According to a newspaper report

\nstreet art.\u00a0\u00a0 While I\u2019ve had insufficient
\ntime to see many laneways I did run across some street art and \u00a0graffiti.<\/p>\n
