After leaving the Clifton Bridge near Bristol we drove to Brecon in Wales. \u00a0Some ancestors, the Vicks, \u00a0had given up farming and taken to running a pub in Brecon. \u00a0It was not a successful venture as in less than five years \u00a0Anne Vick had died and Silvanus Vick was\u00a0bankrupted the following month. \u00a0A few months later during the 1851 census their 5 daughters were spread among various branches of the family and Silvanus was living with his parents in law.<\/p>\n

After settling into our B&B we headed out for tea followed by a short walk.<\/p>\n

The next day we went looking for\u00a0the family pub and the church from which Ann Vick was buried and while doing so saw some of the following sights.<\/p>\n
