The map shows where I started in the south and walked north past Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and various neighbourhoods.\u00a0 The photos show some of the scenes along the way.\u00a0 I returned part of the way by bus.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 This is the great Hall of the People, the Chinese equivalent of a parliament building.\u00a0 It is on the western side of Tiananmen Square.<\/p>\n This is a distance shot of a doorway to show the immense size of the building.\u00a0 Two men are standing outside the open door.<\/p>\n This is a lone uniformed man standing to attention basically in the middle of nowhere near a corner.\u00a0 He was close enough to the railing to answer people’s questions and\u00a0\u00a0more than once he turned his head and\u00a0noticed me loitering taking photos.<\/p>\n These trees go from near the Great Hall of the People to near the street corner where the man was standing.\u00a0 Autumn has started with falling leaves.<\/p>\n This shows how white the atmosphere was.\u00a0 This is Tiananmen Gate which is the one commonly seen on TV.\u00a0 It is the entrance to the Forbidden City.\u00a0 The city is still colourful with recently planted or placed flowers to celebrate National Day on October 1st.<\/p>\n This cat was asleep on a very old tricycle outside a shop along the long straight road leading to the park.\u00a0 It was awake and friendly when I returned but as the bus, AKA sardine can, arrived we didn’t have time to become aquainted.<\/p>\n This rabbit was on a step outside building further up the street.<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
